I did this drawing a year ago, but now I’m trying to amp it up by re-inking and coloring it digitally.

Again, it is Warren Ellis, Grant Morrison, Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman (and Cabal!), and Garth Ennis, from left to right.

This is so cool.

Why in the name of God am I in a top hand and silk gloves? Is that the top hat made of gold coins that McKelvie always accuses me of owning?

I had a great time watching Auto-Mod at Tokyo Dark Castle while I was in Japan. They’re one of those bands that I have heard of but never really had the chance to listen to much, so I was curious about seeing them live. And I am really, really glad that I did.

Hahah well, that’s not long to wait and I really think you’ll have a great time. The best advice I got was to go with no preconceived expectations and just enjoy the country and culture for what it is. I liked everywhere I travelled equally, though ended up with a particular fondness for Kanazawa on the grounds that it’s just rammed with cultural/historical stuff that I like to do. But every city i went to was quite different from the next (I planned it that way) and so that kept everything fresh and exciting as I moved around.

Tokyo… I don’t know. I was absolutely tip-top fine there because while it’s a few years since I lived near London, and Tokyo is laid out quite differently anyway, I am still very familiar with underground railway systems and generally negotiating large, unplanned cities. I automatically slipped into the habit of allowing for travel time and navigating by landmark. But I can absolutely see why some people are overwhelmed by Tokyo or find it a bit scary. I’ll try and help you with any tips you need though (like where to find stuff if I have been there, or how to get to hide’s grave if you want to go - that’s in the country south of Tokyo on a small railway line, but totally doable).

DIQ is usually a big show and last year they did three DIQs I think, including one in Sendai because of what happened there. I think you can usually get tickets on the day at the box office so you should manage fine. Or if you have a friend in Japan they can get one for you from one of the machines in a Lawson convenience store.

Also uh… I may have told some people that I would consider going back for the next standing tour (probably early spring). *Cough*. So I guess I will have no money forever at this rate :)
