I understand, I want to do the same with my Black Metal idols in Norway.
But hide…
Visiting his grave is confront the fact that he is dead. That he don’t exist anymore.
This feeling is gonna kill me, he means the world to me.
I choose to be far away from the truth.
Yeah, I can respect that. Everyone is different and I don’t think people are any more/less a fan whether they want to visit an idol’s grave/hometown or not.
My only strong opinion on the matter is that whatever people choose to do, they should always remember that in hide’s case, his family are still alive, and respect them and their feelings above all else. The world may have lost a talented and charismatic musician, but his family lost a son/brother/uncle, and people should always consider “how would I feel if that were me?” first and foremost.
I did think that the story of the two fans meeting hide’s mother was very sweet, though. It seemed from the story that SHE was happy they were there, so perhaps it eases her heart once in a while to know that her son’s music and talent is still appreciated all these years later by a new generation of people from countries he never even got to visit? I hope so.
I totally agree with you.
When I made the post, I just wanted to express my point of view. I respect the opinion of other fans. Of course, only if they respect mine.
Of course :)
